This year, we have pasture-raised pork available. We purchase weaned piglets from a local farm in St. Mary’s County and raise them at our farm on pasture (grass). The pigs’ diet is supplemented with GMO-free grain from a local Amish feed mill.

Custom Pork Orders

2017 Prices For Whole/Side Orders of Pastured Pork
Whole Hog $4.50 per pound* (Hanging weight approximately 150 – 180lbs)
Half Hog $4.75 per pound* (Hanging weight approximately 75 – 90lbs)

*Price is based on the hanging weight of the pork. Hanging weight is the weight of the hog hanging in a meat cooler before being butchered into the usable cuts. We are estimating that a side of our pork will be 75-90 lb. The yield after butchering the hog is usually around 70-80% of the hanging weight, depending on the cuts you select.
 
**There is an additional cost for cured and smoked meats. Please add $2.50 per lb. for bacon and/or ham that you want cured and smoked.

I’ve Never Ordered a Side of Pork Before…

Ordering a side of pork for the first time can be confusing. We’ve tried to make our order form as simple as possible. Benson will review your order and call you to go over the details. If you have questions when you’re filling out your form, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 410-535-4357 or email benson@monnettfarms.com.

Your pork will be cut to your specifications at a USDA inspected butcher (Fauquier’s Finest Meat Processing). We can help you customize your order and will handle the transport of your pig to the butcher and back to our farm for pick up.
